Thanks in advance for the help.

I am going through my credit report. I read somewhere I believe on this forum that the SOL in California for the information to be remove was 7 Years (I hope I am correct)

American Express
Last Activity 8/1/2008
Removal Date 2/2015

Capital One
Last Activity 11/1/2007
Removal Date 8/1/2015

Im totally confused now that I look at the information given on my report.

What is the correct way to calculate SOL for information being remove?

Thanks

hiya,

The SOL for removal on credit reports is not based on state laws, but it is instead a federal law, set forth in the FCRA, that is the same in every state.

The 7 year reporting time starts when the account first becomes delinquent. You need to see if you can find out when that happened, and then you would know when the account should fall off the report. If you find that the account should have already been removed, you need to file a dispute with the credit reporting agency--trans union, experian or equifax--and inform them that the entry is barred by statute of limitations and must be removed.
