I have an acct list on my crediit report for a vehicle that was repossessed. Spoke with the CA today and they state I have a balance of $10,970 or they offered me a settlement of $4,279. I cannot pay this amount. Should I offer them a lesser settlement amount or just try my luck to try and have the acct deleted? I hace about $1500 in savings---should I offer this as a settlement amount???

It seems that there is a deficient balance. You can offer $1500 to settle the debt. However, I don't think that they'll accept your settlement offer. They have made a good settlement offer to you.

If they accept your settlement offer, then it will be great. If they don't, then try to come up with $4279.

They are not going to delete your account...waste of time even asking. And $1500 is probably not going to fly either....I wouldnt even mention to them that you have that amount....

You could potentially be sued for the entire deficency balance.

Should I ask them to validate the debt. Because looking at my credit report they have 3 different amounts. Balance-$9,930.00, past due--$11,043.00 Aand high balance-$16,625.
