How will I know the lender is using which credit score? Can I ask the lender to use the score which I prefer?

It's difficult to know that. You can ask your lender about it. Most lenders use FICO score. TransUnion and Equifax give educational credit score. But that is usually not used by creditors. There are 60 different credit scoring model since 2011. You can the lender to use the score you prefer. But they are not compelled to listen to you.

Usually, lenders use FICO score. However, you can ask your lender to confirm.

Yup most of them are using FICO score. It's hard to know why, but FICO score is quite trusted among the lenders.
