OK I am getting so frustrated but reading the posts keep me motivated to not giv e up. I have been disputing, got a few off from all 3 and I got 2 credit cards which I use only 30% of the balance and pay every month on time, I also got a small installment loan for a kirby vacume just to have something to pay on each month! cause I know you need to have a variety of things to get a payment history bla bla bla. Here's my point though its been 5 months and It seems only one score went up and the others actually went DOWN!!! I am pulling my hair out here, I am dedicating all my time and money to this and being patient as can be but it doesnt seem to be going like I thought I feel as if I am doing something wrong. I read everything I can get my hands on that tells me how to improve credit. I need some help . I cant afford to pay off all my past medical bills but they will fall off and there are about 1,000 in other collections between the 3 agencies but I figured I paid the ones I could and I am just focusing on my current payments and paying them on time and praying it will eventually fix my score. they range from 526, 544 to 566. Please anyone with some advice besides "keep up what your doing " which seems to be all I ever get, help me out in any way you think possible. Thank you! SARA

Ang any new credit received will be a drop in score because the average age of your accounts decreases. The drop is determined by the age of your file,so the older your file is the less the drop will be. After about 6-9 months you get those points back plus more for the new aged positive trade lines. The only reason I don't have a 800 Fico is me applying and collecting new credit.

Yeah, unfortunately receiving new credit will decrease your score and it also depends on how many new accounts have been open. Creditors have to see that you're credit worthy before reporting good things on your report but I didn't know it took up to 9 months to get your points back. thanks cajun.
the best thing to do is manage all of your accounts to the best of your ability, pay more than the minimum on time every time. Credit card companies, contrary to popular belief, don't like folks who pay their balance off in full every month because they don't make their interest. I heard on the tv (news station) that they call people like that dead beats. I wanna be a dead beat :) I noticed when I pay my balances in full (rare) my scores go up gradually.

Thanks, can I call my credit agencies and get the report date ya think because I cannot get an updated report online every day to see when they report, its hard enough to get one every month without having to argue about them charging me when they arent suposed to because I pay to get it with my score, I dont know how many times I have been charged for reports fraudulently! So what you are saying is I will get the points back in time from the new accounts and that my old debt is holding me back from my credit score going up?
