I have some things on my report that say paid, but are still on there. What gives? Can I write the creditor a letter to have it removed???

For example, I have one from the city I lived in (I think it was a parking ticket)and this is what it says:Paid, was past due 180 days or more

Also, have a few from QUICK COLLECT (anyone hear od them??!?) that say:Paid, was a collection account, insurance claim or government claim or was terminated for default

I want to have these removed because they are likely hurting my credit, correct?

Also, I have some for educational loans that say it was paid say: Paid satisfactorily. Credit line closed-grantor request-reported by subscriber.

Do I want to keep these on there to show that they were paid??

A charge of is a debt that has been deliquent for over 90 days and the OC has written it off as a loss and more than likely sold it. Yes it does hurt ur credit score and sometimes if u dispute it, if ur lucky, the OC will not respond in the time frame and it will come off. (luckily for me, that's exactly what happened with my one and only charge off) Doesn't always happen but sometimes it does. Luck of the draw i guess.
And i think it's ok to keep satisfactory closed accts on ur report.
But hang tight and someone will be around with suggestions, if anything diff than mine. I'm definately NO expert but have been working hard over the last several months to get my credit back on track, slowly but surely.
Good luck to u
