Just got my credit report from Experian. Two accounts showing for the same debt.

Cavalry Portfolio Service bought an old debt that I used to owe for Neiman Marcus.

What options do I have here?

I want either one to go away or
I want both to have same info.

Both showing different date for continue on record.

If the old debt gets removed first then the same debt bought should remove at same time correct?

Any help or suggestion welcome.

Thanks

first find out if neiman marcus assigned,or sold the debt.if they assigned it then cavalry is reporting illegaly.if it was sold then both parties can report.if it was sold contact cavalry and see if you can negotiate a settlement with a clause to delete the entry.if it was assigned then you dispute the entr by cavalry and inform neiman marcus of this.either or.
