I am having such a difficult time finding out how to get on track
Date: Mon, 03/01/2010 - 12:27
I'm pretty worried...I learned a few years ago how to live within my means, but now with things coming up (like getting an apartment...i was fortunate enough to live somewhere without a credit check the past few years) as well as getting an engagement ring and all that comes with that...I just don't know what to do or where to look. I see other people have been seemingly worse off yet still accomplish those things. I'm not wealthy but i'm not poor either...I just don't understand how people do it...I don't waste money yet it's never easy.
Does anyone have any help or experience or advice...it just gets more stressful every day. I know rebuilding takes time and I know there are no easy fixes. I'm not looking to get a boat or a mansion here, just live a basic life. Any help is appreciated.
Incidentally I can't log in here so I hope this posts.

Hi pressured,
Why couldn't you log in? Have you tried contacting the admin about it?
However, you were not very clear about the help you want. Your credit score would definitely improve once you pay down your delinquent accounts.
Hasn't your score improved since you have paid off two of your accounts? Well, it may take some time but eventually it would certainly improve.
You must make sure the following to see some positive changes in your score,
- It contains no incorrect information
- Contains any item that shouldn't be there
- The status of the accounts are mentioned/updated correctly
Hope it helps.

I don't think score improves from paying off a collectoin, only when its gone...that's what i've read online anyway...so there's not much more i can do as far as improving what's on there. But my concerns are about the future....how can i get an apartment, or anything else for that matter...I don't want to apply for a credit card unless i'm sure i can get it ....i just know how hard it was to get the auto loan.
Does anyone have any experiences to share?

I have bad credit and I got approved for an apartment. They told me that they just look at if you dissed a previous landlord. Can you use the place you are living now as a reference also. Hang in there
