Hi this is my first post My husband and I are going to try to buy a house this summer His credit score is 621 EQ. I need to clean up his report but not sure where to start and how to do it. It is just confusing me So anyone that can give me advise and point me in the right direction would be great I just don't want to make his score go down by doing the wrong thing Here are the bad things on his report ( I also made some notes of some things) The good things on the report are a Mortgage Opened 1987 and closed in 2002 it says Paid/Closed/ Never Late and a car loan that was open Last May 2009 that has never been late Sorry for it being so long Do you think we have a chance of getting a House?
Thank You

Much of this would depend on what state you live in. We need a little more detail in that aspect.

You need a 620 mid score to get a FHA/HUD loan. Now that it when the bank pulls all 3 of your FICO scores and then uses the middle score.
Thank You

This should be on your report until mid 2011. It can only stay on for 7 years. Now as far as the SOL we need to know the state

Does not matter if you got money back from the forclosure. the fact is it was forclosed upon and it will stay on your report for 7 years. This is a HUGE factor banks will look at if trying for a loan.

Now I do not know the way checking accounts are counted on collection reports due to the fact that it is not a credtor and they didn't loan you money. If I was you I would make an offer to pay the outstanding amount if the delete it from your report.
