When you finish paying the judgement, whos responsibility it is to update the record with the CRAs. Also, is it not the responsibility of the judgement holder to issues the 'satisfaction of judgement' once it is paid? Or, would I have to request that to him in writing?

Paying the judgment won't have an immediate effect on your credit report. But after paying the judgment the creditor should file a satisfaction of judgment with the court. Once your credit report gets updated the judgment will stand as ''satisfied.'' If it's not updated timely by the major credit bureaus then you can send them a copy of satisfaction to prove that it's been paid. Generally the judgment gets removed after 7 years from the date the judgment was filed against you.
