well i have had my credit cut in half. its keeps getting lowered and it said i had missed payments. i never missed payments. so i hade my report pulled. 2 say no payments missed and one says i had 2 payments missed. so i called the one who said i missed payments and there doing an investigation now. one is from a school loan that i sent to deferment and says i missed it for 60 days, other is capital one. i never activated the card and they charged me 39.99 for something so i called and canceled it... these 3 things are really hurting my credit. i have never been late on any bills in the last 10 yrs. i'm only 30. when i got my first credit card i was stupid. now i built up my credit and this is hurting it.

Keep that correspondence that your credit was lowered. If the CRA does not fix the problem, write them a letter asking for the method they used to verify the information and for a name and phone number of who provided the verifying information. By law they have to provide this information.

You may have to pursue this aggressively because sometimes the CRAs simply don't verify information properly. The fact is you have actual damages and were you to sue, you could win a substantial amount over the regular monies awarded were you to sue, which you might have to do to fix the problem.

How exactly is the Cap One being reported?

cap one is reported as paid in full closed by consumer request.. the card was never activated. it was only 1000.00 limit.. i have credit cards with 5-9k limits.. didn't need a high interest cc with only 1000.00 limit.. then they charged a non active card for 39.99 and reported the payment late.. then waived it and closed the card out.. and now i still get apps in the mail 1-3 times a week for them
