OK, reviewing my credit report, I find a company that put a hard pull on my credit file this past January. The name doesnt ring any bells, for sure, but the company is located in a place I lived in 8 years ago. Is there any time limit for companies to continue running your credit? For example, if I had a charge-off account with a company 15 years ago, could they continue to pull my credit forever like this?

You should know the Statute of Limitations (SOL) of your state. Usually, it's better not to acknowledge a debt which is more than 6 years old. And it's no use paying those debts off since the payment can hurt your credit score instead.

So, if the collectors are contacting you after the SOL, just tell them that you're aware of the SOL of your state and send them an SOL expiration letter. You can get an example to the letter in the following link: http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/forums/notify-ca-expiredsol.html#113097
