Contacting Orig CC under FACTA

So I've been helping my daughter repair her credit since her divorce. Experian supposedly researched the discrepancies, especially with a Capital One account that she doesn't remember having. Her ex was very good at getting credit, maxing it out and not paying. She seems to think this is what happened. (The account is listed in her name only). He had also at one time ran up an E-bay bill in her name which was successfully disputed.
Under FACTA, as I read it, we can contact the original creditor. My question is can we request copy of original application and copies of what charges were made? This account was charged off in 2004 but she didn't know about it until I pulled her credit report for her.
Any suggestions? She cannot rent a house with her credit the way it is right now.

You can contact the original creditor but it doesnt mean they will work with you or discuss anything with you. If they account is assigned to a CA, you will have to go thru them.
If she was charged off in 2004, it might already be out of SOL. It will or should drop off her report next year.l
