I pulled my credit report and am getting ready to send DV letters to a few of the accounts listed. I have 2 questions - 1 - can you send a DV to a CA for an old dental bill? 2 - if a CA can validate an old debt, should you then make payment arrangements with them? By doing so, does this restart the SOL?

Sorry one more question - at what date does the SOL go by?

Thanks so much for any help you can provide.

SOL depends on what state you live in and what kind of debt it is. You can send a DV to a CA for an old dental bill, yes. If they validate the debt, you're certain they own it and are legally able to collect it AND you know you owe it, I'd negotiate a settlement and payment arrangements. You may want to check SOL for your state before sending out any DV letters.
