getting a CA off credit report (re Verizon)

First off I have pretty good credit. But I just noticed on my credit report (I monitor it) that Verizon Wireless put a ding on my CR negatively and turned it over to a CA. I am having a heck of a time getting a Pay to delete. My score dropped over 60 points over this. I live in texas and it was just reported to me CR on 8/9/2010. But the CA is saying they cannot remove it and because Verizon was the one who made the file with my CR. And verizon will not do a pay to delete. I have tried to talk to a Supervisor over this and I was told I will be called in 24-48 hours,

Soaplady, I'm confused. On these forums there is much advise on pay for delete letter posted by moderators, but you as a moderator are saying a lot of companies don't do it.......are pay for delete letters a waste of time?
