Just signed (approved) for a new credit card

Hello,
I was charged with bad debt due to my inability to pay off 3 credit cards. I am in the process of trying to take care of it one by one. My credit score has gone from a 680 to a 547. I'm really trying to get it above a respectable number again as I'm trying to get away from being negatively judged through my credit reports/score.
Recently, I was approved for a Master Card (weird, I applied for one or two and was denied). My question is this:
If I use it responsibly (Oh! I learned from my mistakes and WILL only use it to build a better history), is this a good way to start rebuilding my credit? Any other advice on repairing my credit is greatly appreciated as well.
God bless.

Using credit responsibly is a wonderful way to rebuild your cred
Using credit responsibly is a wonderful way to rebuild your credit. Make sure you only use the card for small amounts (gas, small convenience store purchases, etc.) and pay the full balance when you receive the bill. That way you will incur no finance fees, but will be establishing new credit history.
It's 0% APR for a few months then 22% APR. I definitely will NOT
It's 0% APR for a few months then 22% APR. I definitely will NOT spend anything on the card I wouldn't be able to pay off RIGHT AWAY.
Thank you for answering my post again, Debt Samaritan.
