1-2 punch question after initial 30 days

I've read through many of the different forum threads in regards to the 1-2 punch but am still confused regarding how to deal with it after the initial 30 days. I've sent out DV's to the collection agencies and they have updated my credit reports to show the accounts are in dispute. I am still waiting on them to provide validation to me. I then disputed with the CRA's and one of the collection agencies have verified with them but have not sent me validation yet. Is this allowed? Can anyone advise me as to what letter to send them next. Just to make it clear, I requested DV after the initial 30 days letter received from them.
