Hi. I wanted to rebuilt my credit. How can I do so if I get denied? Is there a way I can do so?

It will be difficult to obtain a credit card with bad credit. There is nothing unnatural about it.

Check your credit report and find out if there is any wrong information on it. If you find wrong tradelines on your credit report, then just ask the credit bureaus to remove them.

It took me over 2 years to rebuild my credit. I did it by applying for 2 credit cards for people with bad credit. Yes, there are extra fees and the interest rate is ridiculous. But I bit the bullet and applied. I was accepted and started out with a $300 line of credit with Credit One Bank. That credit line has now been increased to $1,200. First Premier was the other card I got. I have since cancelled them, but it helped increase my credit score. I was able to get a personal loan last year, and rent an apartment.

First step is to get your FREE credit reports and check to see what's on them. If something is incorrect, get it fixed.

If you think or know you will be denied a credit card, then your only recourse is the secured credit card until your score improves. Good luck.

Paying your bills on time is the most important contributor to a good credit score. Even if the debt you owe is a small amount, it is crucial that you make payments on time. In addition, you should:
1. Minimize outstanding debt
2. Avoid overextending yourself.
3. Refrain from applying for credit needlessly
This is the top most thing can do to maintain credit score.
