Credit Rating

Our debt has not gone to collections yet, but this is the month the whole thing starts to disintegrate but we need to keep our credit rating intact if possible. Although we do want to become debt free we do not want to wreck our credit rating as it may affect our ability to move into retirement park.

Unless you can work with your creditors to not report or to report as paid in full to the credit bureaus, the only way to keep your credit good is to keep paying. Although if you do settle sometimes the creditors are willing to report so it does not affect your rating. Again, it is a gamble because you do not know how they will report even if you request it. Just get it in writing.
