I was able to get my transunion credit report online. However, I was unable to receive my equifax and experian.I am writing in a request for these two credit reports from annualcreditreport.com. The two companies have request the following information to verify my identity: paystub w/ ss#, checking account statment, w2 copy and a id. my question is this. is it ok to block out a portion of my checking account number and the amount I made on my pay stub and w2?

You should be ok blocking out an unnecessary info. They are requesting all this information to verify your identity.A picture id,verification of social security number, and proof of address should be sufficient. Once you receive them, you should be able to setup login accounts at the three bureaus online so you can purchase updated reports online.

Hi jdub

I understand your problem. There are many imposter sites that ask for your personal information to trap you. But annualcreditreport.com is an authorized website that offers free annual credit report. They need some information regarding you to verify your identity. You have to provide them your name, date of birth, address and SSN. In order to maintain the security of your file, you have to provide them information that only you know for instance your monthly car payment. So, you need not worry.

Last but not the least???????once you get your report check it thoroughly for inaccuracy.

Good luck :D
