Wrong number

Ok, so my problem is pretty minor compared to alot of stories I'm reading here. But anyway, the thing is, I keep getting calls for some mohammad character. The first company I had this experience with, I talked to some witch that didn't want to believe me that she had the wrong number. But she/they stopped calling. Then a few months later some other company called, my personal cell phone mind you, looking for this a-hole. It's a cycle where they keep telling me "oh, sorry, we'll update our records" but then some other company calls me later on. They're not looking for me, and I know I don't have any delinquent debt so I'm not worried. I am mad, tho. I'm pretty tempted to change my number, but come on, I've had it for like a year and a half and it's like why should I have to. Any suggestions?

What is probably happening is that this old debt is being sold over and over again. With the old file goes the phone number - YOUR phone number.
Cease and desist letter might help. They should update the complete records - not just their own, but you may fail in that.

So, do I write this letter to the next SOB that calls me, or to who? How does one sell a debt anyway? My dad sent me this email about zombie debt collectors...is that what they are? Collecting a non-existent debt or something like that... sounds illegal as heck :)
