Kyside, I wish I had gone about it by contacting my AG first. I was so anxious to get my PDLs out that I did that first. I did have quick results with DMS Marketing, but the other two were more difficult to get rid of. I wish I had waited until I actually had the AG to back me. It would have been easier and wouldn't have taken as long.

Anytime a person feels they have been a victim of injustice they should feel free to contact their AG. My AG's office prosecuted my dead beat baby daddy for his failure to pay child support.
Personally I have had zero results with my AG regarding PDL's. You are fortunate to have a AG concerned about these. Someone from GA's AG office contacted me on this board to get info on Cash Today, but I can't get Mr. Cox's attention to save my life. It took months to get OFIS's attention.

I would like to see all the AG take the response that my state has. But basically the cyber world is a big one to beat. One point I am trying to make and dont want to cause any trouble making it is we had a memeber here wont mention any names? That advised people to THREATEN these companies with Attorney General. The point I am making dont use them either complain or dont... In my opinion this member caused some serious issues for people by taking good sound information that people worked very hard on and twisted it into what they wanted. Thats just not right. KYSIDE38

I hear your kyside. If you're going to make the threat, why not do it anyway? But, the word "threat" doesn't have a good feel to me. The word should be promise. After all, these letters carry a lot more punch if the AG's office is contacted.

To add to my previous post, let's just say that since I've sent my letters out, I feel I have no other choice but to send a complaint to the AG's office and to send a copy to the PDL company just so they know that I carry out my "promise".

My first step was filing the complaints with my AGs office. I did that online and they began contacting the ipdls the very next day, and I am not lying when I tell you before the end of the day they had gotten a few of them marked PIF. The ipdls cc'd me the copies of the letters of PIF they had faxed to my AGs office. I guess it depends upon what state you are in, but either way how will the AG know there is an issue with this industry unless people start complaining. They may not show much concern over one complaint, but they start to raise their eyebrows when they start getting multliple complaints about companies.

Just my thoughts!! If you don't let the legal authorities know about the problems happening in your state, how will they come to know about the companies doing wrong business? How will they take actions against them? You will have to report them first in order to see some actions. Otherwise, stay silent by not reporting to anyone and let these companies do their business in their way. There won't be any complaints. The choice is simple.

I think it depends on the state you live in and how aggressive the AG's office is in contacting the lenders. I live in NC and the AG's office wants to get as much information about the ipdl's as possible. Trust me when I send them the letter the complaint form is already filled out just in case the ipdl's start tripping.
I have to agree with Steelers1, more complaints will get there attention. If they don't know about consumer problems, then they won't help
