anyone heard of these guys? They called and left message yesterday. I called back and they wanted info but unwilling to give, I then started quoting fdcpa they hung up

I watched a tv program a few nights ago on MSNBC, it was called "Big Brother". There are companies out there that know your every move, what you purchase, kind of car you drive, what you eat, one company CEO also stated that his company had also gotten cell phone numbers. They sell this information to CA's and others. I have also read that some companies have equipment to receive your phone number even if you try to block it from showing up.

Good job EZRunner24! It's funny how, when you start quoting the fdcpa to the crooked CA's they want to quickly end the call.

I would definitely send them a DV and C&D letter, letting them know they are calling you on a business cell phone and they are to stop. See what happens then.

The thing I'm wondering about, according to your other post they called you on a Saturday demanding payment by 2:45 PM? On a Saturday? And I wonder how they were expecting you to get it to them so quickly?

A citizen in Richardson, TX, got a call from this company and was trying to say they were debt collectors working for Dell computers, but were based in NY. They kept trying to get personal information from the resident over the phone even though the resident had never purchased a computer from Dell. Tritium would not talk to the police and tried to get the resident to fax a copy of his ID Theft report to them.

About 4 months ago I started getting phone calls on an old Navy account that had around $800 on it and they said we had already made 2 payments but wanted the rest now. We never had a Old Navy Card. Now I keep getting the same phone calls but on Kohls. Same amount and also saying we already made 2 payments. We have never even seen a bill. We have never had a Kohls account. They say it is from my wife yet and act like i'm going to pay it for my wife. They ask for ID and SS#. I have been doing research and it looks like everything is just a scam. I called them back and chewed them out but I didn't help the situation other than it made me feel better.

Pull hers and your credit reports at www.annualcreditreport.com See if accounts show for either Old Navy or Kohl's. You may be a victim of Identity Theft. If so, go to www.ftc.gov and follow the steps outlined there. If you are a victim and follow all the steps, the Credit Reporting Agencies must permanantly suppress any entries that are a result of IDT and the creditors and CA's must cease collecting.

I actually use to work for this co. Tritium Card Services is a collection debt agency. which is in New york and slowly progressing in Arizona. it is legal for them to call 7 days a week sun-mon 8am-8pm estrn time. although they dont just give out personal info. to answer to ezrunner's question how this company got a hold of your #, is through a automatic dialer. Which automatically looks up names by ur name and previous history on adress, or when you had filled out the loan or card by phone numbers you had listed, also by the certain numbers we have listed in the system and we contacted someone along the lines that my have known you that gave out your #, we have the authority to call that #. once you are passed due on the loan or card in certain time frame, which can be 30-90 days you'll recieve a call from Tritium. Yes the loans can be from Bank of America, Dell, Kohls, Credit One Bank... And no, were not some high tech people who track you down every where you go. the whole reason why we quoted the FDCPA, to let you understand that it is legal for us to call you. as long as its along the lines between 8am-8pm. Were not out to steal your money. but assist you on getting you back on track on your payments. that way your not falling any more behind. also a curtosy call to advice you ur behind until u do catch up on the account. if you are not the person we are trying to contact. simply just say your not them. and the calls will stop. so we can quit wasting your time and the annoying calls. lol. so when your trying to be nosey and find out who's calling when its not realy you its best if you just say your not the person that way the calls wont progress.

sorry to let some of you guys know but, there is id theft everyday and its not the collection agencies that are calling, its crimianls.if you have someone calling you about an acct that you don't know about you should really find out the info they are talking about, many ppl are so scared to pick up the phone and talk to the ppl that are calling, they calling for a reason not just to talk to you. the worst thing you can do is not talk or hang up, YES as you all can see i am a bill collector and we do have a job to do that we know, know one is trying to talk too but that is what we have to do. i call ppl every day on clients that want their funds so they gives us info to call that person, it is the law ppl that bill collectors can call from 8am to 9pm monday tll sunday!! no i don't want to call you house when your eating dinner but i have too, and if i have a client that says that i have to ask for the last of your ssn before theinfo on what it is regarding, then i have to do it,ppl if you don't have an acct with a client and the peron on the other line is saying you do YOU SHOULD LISTEN CAUSE IT COULD BE FRAUD!!! just fax the info.it's ur crdt @ stake not the collector calling!!! [samebox:8ec46a818e="paulmergel"]sorry to let you know, but people have tried explaining that at times.humanoids like you assume they are lying.that makes you just as bad as the crud who stole the person's identity.GIVE ME A BREAK!!11[/samebox:8ec46a818e]

This company has been calling me no less than 10x per day and they take FULL advantage of the 8am-9pm window. I can set my watch with the first call each morning at 8am. They've never left a message and I've never received any other correspondence regarding a debt (of which I have NONE). In my disgust, I finally picked up the phone this morning. The person asked for me and I asked why they were calling. She would not reveal the purpose of the call, other than a "personal business matter". I told her until I understand the purpose of the call more specifically she could not speak with the person she was asking for. She hung up but before she did I did get her name and the name of the company she was calling from (which is how I found this site).
The process is ridiculous, invasive and it's harrassment. I get the impression from what I've read that most people are contacted in error. There has to be a better way.

I was home recovering from surgery and couldn't understand why someone would call me 15 times in one day. So just as I would finally get some sleep a call would wake me up, I answered the phone and either they hanged up or didn't answer. Also no messages left. I finally got someone to answer today and was told it was Tritium Card Services. I don't have any credit cards and asked that they mail a notice to the address on file. and hung up. Thank god for a answering machine with do not disturb capabilities.

Just wanted to let everybody out there know that I got a call from Tritium this saturday claiming that I owed $8,000 on a Chase mastercard account. When I denied I had that card, he asked me if I was sure I had no recollection of the account. I said yes, because I had a mastercard but not from Chase. Once I said that, he said to hold on and next thing I know he hangs up. I know this call was fraudulent because I had just checked my credit report a few days earlier and if the call were legit I would have seen the chase card on my credit report. Secondly, since I am a previous victim of ID theft nobody is allowed to issue credit under my name without first calling my home number (I know it works because I have had to jump through a lot of hoops myself to get credit). Beware of Tritium, they are not an honest company.

Same Issue, but Sunday morning @ 9am Bob Thompson from Tritium called my house looking for my brother who hasn't had this number in 16 years. I asked questions to find out what his call was regarding and got nothing back from him. Thanks to this site I know not to pass the message on. I hate companies that pull this crap.

I used to work for this company and man did it blow! Yes its a 3rd party collector from whoever you owe debt to. There is tons and tons of ID theft so if you dont know about that debt I'd have it checked out. There were family members, friends, and complete strangers stealing people info! We arent allowed to give out info cuz its against the law! Trust me if I could tell your whole family, friend, girl/boyfriend, etc about your debt, I would have

omg.. why is it that everytime i read this i see ignorant ppl and comments. yes its true that there are ppl out there trying to steal information but that is not the case with this company. for your info.. i work for a collection agency. collection agencies a bunch of numbers for a single person from tools like innovis and ussearch and they give us any type of number even the so called "PRIVATE" and from there the automatic dialers keeps trying every single number until we get to the right 'John Smith' that we're looking for.. now if an agency is handling an account and has no success collecting usually the client gives the account to a different agency the next month and again the new agency also use the same tools like innovis and ussearch which is gonna give them the same numbers again. so wrong numbers are going to be called over and over again.. and i understand the frustration with ppl getting tons of call all the time about a person they dont even know but u know what then you should blame your government for not coming up with a law that prevents agencies or these sites like innovis to give out 'WRONG NUMBERS" .. so if your name is John Smith and we call you and tell you you owe us money from Kohls and you know you dont have anything with Kohls.. then its either we have the wrong John Smith OR somebody else has stolen your identity and is using ur info to get credit.. i've seen this a lot and thanks to us. some a lot of people found out they were being victims of identify theft and obviously some other ignorants will just hang up on us even after his social and address and date of birth matches our records. and you know what.. if your name is John Smith and your uncomfortable verifying sensitive information like social and stuff. at least verify just one piece of info thats your date of birth. obviously if ur date of birth does not match the collector will know its not you without asking for more info. the address wont help to much cause ppl MOVE.. but date of birth is not gonna hurt you. and if it DOES MATCH and you know you dont got such account then tell the collector you'll directly contact The Store or whatever it is customer service so you're more comfortable and you'll probably be surprised that ur identity was stolen.

I also received a call for this company claiming I also owed debt to Chase Mastercard. The first thing they asked was for my social security number, which of course i declined to give. From what I understand, there is a scam called "phantom Debt". I do not know much about it but like the response above. If it is not on your credit report it is not legitimate and I would report it to Consumer affairs.
