the harassment.

CashTransferCenter is harrassing me for the charges my bank returned. When I inform them that this will be turned over to a debt consolidation company, they got very rude and threatened me. Also, I informed them I only authorized the 200 dollars loan and how did they arrive at the 900 dollars? They insisted on the 900 dollars loan and would not tell me how they arrived on that amount. I asked for them to send me account/loan information in writing, they told me they can not do that. I find it very shady. I said I d pay the 200 dollars since I did take out a loan for that amount but not the 900 dollars. They threatened me "pay up or else". I asked if they have a legal department, of course they quickly changed the subject.

I askd for th documntation to prove that I took out the 900 dolllars loan. Of course, they said they do not have any documentations (they said they dont have it?????).

I told them i'm calling the police because they continued to call and harrass me. Even after I told them it will be taken care of. They said fine, fax me the police report. Oh, ok. No problem. I called the police and filed a report of harrassment. The lieutiant was very interested and he wanted allt he info. He said he wants to crack down on the payday lenders and its collection practices so he was very glad that I called. :) I did tell him that I did take out a loan for 200 dollars and I am liable for it. We will see how it turns out.

Hi Sapphire: First that is awesome you called the
police on them...way to go:)...Do you happen to know
if this is the same payday loan company as Cash Today?..Fax them a cease and desist letter right away and keep all documentation with these clowns...keep us posted.

Hello Sapphire,
That's awesome what you did and how you did call the police actually...I bet they didn't see that one coming. I think you should definitely keep this up and let us know through updates on what's happening. I am not sure how much strength the cops would have against a company harassing from Europe/India but I'm sure something will be done.
The Cash Transfer Centers company is one of the dumbest companies I've ever come across and it really does seem like they hire middle school kids to run the show. I can't even understand half the things they say..

Keep it up SapphireDreams. This company will be folding shortly as the authorities are hot on their trail. They operate several companies. Their parent company E-Care Contact Centers are being investigated. I want to see this company along with payday avenue, mycashtransfercenters will be stopped. I promise.

Quesik, just to let you know, they are not based out of Europe/India. Their call centre is based out of Surrey, BC. All their business is based out of here as well. They just use mail boxes for payments. Here, in Canada, the provincial and federal governments are starting to clamp down on these type of operations.

Cash Transfer, Northway Debit, Sonic Payday are the same company with different names. They are not licensed in US and are under legal observation for violating the federal and state laws. I picked up some threads on this company for you to get a better understanding on Cash Transfer Centers.

thanks everyone for your support!! :)

The lt. stopped by my house (gotta love the small town) to inform me that CTC has refused to disclose the information to them. *I am deaf so it was much easier for the LT to see me in person* I was asked to fax a letter to release the infromation.

Right now, I am calling the CTC to find out the right department to fax in my permission to release the info to my town police authorities. My LT. rocks! :)

Can anyone here send me the link to BBB with CTC's information? I would like to send it to my LT. He would like to see any info.

BTW, I am on a hold. The guy said he needs to speak with the supervisor, loL!

Edited to add: Found the link myself. After a lot of stalling and runarounds, the police department finally got them to release the information. If my loan was legally binding, why the hesitation to release my account information (keep in mind, i authorized them to do so) to the police department? Makes them look so damn shady.

This company is shady to say the least. I am proud of you for filing a police report against them. Stand your ground with them and keep everything documented for your records or future complaints against this company. I dealt with them as Sonic Payday so I understand the harassment end of it. Do you have an e-mail from them stating the amount that you were approved on when you took out the loan? This might help you in future dealings, just a thought. Good for you :)

block them from debiting your bank account again, either with your bank or by changing bank accounts making sure that the old one isn't linked to the new one. Also dispute it with your bank who has a lot of power behind dealing with folks who do this kind of crap. Keep the pressure on and don't let either of them intimidate you or give you the run around. The loan company will probably try to do both, the bank may just give you a little bit of run around but should eventually and fairly quickly give in. Oh, and keep copies of what the loan company did so you can report them to the BBB and if needed to the Attorney General.
