I am a foodie...I love talking about food, reading about food, watching it on TV and of course consuming food. About mid-day I start thinking of what I am going to have for dinner.

So tell us, whats for dinner tonight in your home?

I crave sandwiches!!

I need to eat a lot of protein, and I need to get a lot of calories, so I eat tons of red meat. I like to take sizzlers and make sandwiches out of them. Tonight I had eggs and sausage. Tomorrow night I will eat fruit and cheese and maybe one slice of bread, because I am running Saturday morning, and most distance runners have a superstition..Mine is never to eat meat the night before, because I may have some intestinal issues. :o

I had some left over ground meat in the freezer so I will just throw a meat sauce together tomight. Quick and easy. I have been buying these Italian crushed tomatoes that come in little boxes. Just the right size for two. I think the brand is Corelli. I was paying 60 cents each in Big Lots. I bought all I could get my hands on!

On Sunday I often make a Bolognese style sauce that is made with Pork, Beef and Veal with stock and carrots, celery, onions, garlic, tomatoes, and seasoned with fresh basil, pepper and nutmeg. Some people use cream in it, For every family in Bologna ther is a different recipe. Mine was 30 years of trial and error. Lots of dicing and stirring. It is great with Polenta or Pasta. Don't forget the grated cheese of your choice. It is too much to start on a weeknight but it lasts for several meals frozen.

Frog Prince, that sounds good. My Grandmother used cream in hers, mom does not. I use romano and lucotelli (I can not spell it). I like the sharper flavors.

Thanks for all the input. I need to see what hubby is thinking...maybe I can even get Him to cook...since he invited them and I am not speaking to FIL's wife. If I was smart I would recommend Chinese buffet which she absolutely hates

I love sushi...we had good sushi in FL. Hubby is a food snob and does not like chinese except pepper steak. #4 son loves Chinese. Looks like rib eyes and shrimp on the grill tomorrow. I tried and tried to get him to go to the Chinese buffet but he said I was being mean. I will have to come up with something else to make her uncomfortable while she is here.

Well, I did not speak to her, I was not speaking to her anyway..she is a complete bit%$, ruined Christmas...anyway, Made a new shrimp recipe. It was really good..even though hubby complained it was not hot (temp ) enough. Linguini, with a roasted red pepper, mushroom, artichoke and herbed cream sauce. It was really easy, took about 30 minutes total. SHould have made it with angel hair though...not a big fan of linguini.
