My Situation
Date: Mon, 06/12/2006 - 12:46
I have about $17,000 in credit card debt, which is mostly from my past 5 years during college. I have 7 cards with rates ranging from 7.9% to 31%!!! I want to consolidate into one payment with a decent rate. I was quoted by Counsel for debt solutions, John Leaberry PLLC for a $474 monthly payment for 47 months. I want to do more research before I sign away on anything. While I could probably swing that payment if I manage a real tight budget, I am also living in California and the cost of living is freaking' ridiculous, so it might be tough. Just looking for advice or any options that would be good for me. Thanks!

A consolidation plan will lower down the interest rates and most of the financial charges and late fees will also get waived off. You can shop for some more consolidation companies and compare the quotes.
Whichever company you choose, remember to read the contract thoroughly before signing it. Understand the terms and conditions clearly. Don't sign anything until you are clearly explained with it. If needed, you can also consult your attorney for a better understanding.
It doesn't hurt to have more than one quote on the consolidation
