Has anyone heard of Elite Recovery Services? They have been looking at my credit report and I don't know why?

Elite Recovery Services

Buffalo, NY 14210
Phone: 716-270-2200
Fax: 716-270-2211
Contact: Richard Corica, Vice President/ COO

They specialize in collecting mostly pre-charged off credit cards. I would think they should not be looking at your credit report, but I know that some CA's that have some of my credit cards have looked at my report...so maybe you have a credit card in collections? And they just haven't contacted you yet.

Dependss on how they are looking at it. If they are looking at it to review an existing account, then not really. Creditrs (and their agents)Can pull your credit report in connection with account review. However, these inquireries donot show when your credit report is pulled by a potential creditor or employeer, and are not used in computing your credit score.

Skip tracing allows the debt collectors to view the file of the consumers. This is not restricted as per the fdcpa laws. They have the permission to view it and if they have a legitimate purpose relating to your account, they can even touch it.

Collectors do skip tracing for getting the contact information of the people. Besides, they can also do it for asset verification purpose.

Quote:

what does pre-charged off mean

Pre charge off accounts are the active accounts of the consumers that have been delinquent with the creditors. These are those accounts which creditors have not marked as 'charged off' in their books.

If the account has not been sold to the CA, you can make a payment arrangement either with the CA or the original creditor. Even after you have paid the CA, the account will be sent back to the original creditor. They will update your account with the bureaus and mark them as 'paid'

Denise, your information might have been used when the account was originally opened before the divorce. Did you sign jointly on the account? If yes, you might be related in this matter. If you haven't, send them a cease and desist letter in writing to stop contact you. The company is bound by federal laws to stop making calls after receiving your cease and desist letter.

You need to watch with these people, they have been taking 100.00 a week for over the past year and keep telling me that the balance is no lower than what it was from the start. They never give you a srtight answer and never fax or mail you a statment.

Re: guest
Your $100/wk pmnt probably doesnt cover the interest your being charged. You should take advantage of a settlement and pay a portion of the balance and have the remainder written off.

CA's have databases that contain the name and numbers of all your relatives.

Elite services called and left a message on my phone for my ex-husband's wife using her maiden name and wanted her to call them. How did they get my phone number? I've remarried, live in a different town and really don't know her very well. Thought it was odd. Any ideas?

They contacted my half sister today trying to find me. I've never heard of them and all the debt I have was long before I even meet my half sister. She told me that our dad was also listed as a contact. They live in a different state then me. How are they get this information? Can they pull your phone records?

I put up a post yesterday giving a kudos to Greystone Alliance and how they made my experience a little less humiliating and now it is deleted? Does this website sensor these responses and only post the negative comments about collection agencies? What's up with that!!!!!!

No. You have to be sued first before any garnishment can happen. Then if you only receive SSI, that money is not garnishable at all. Check with your back as to whats up. Then call your county courthouse and see if there is a case in your name. If there has been a judgement issued then you will have to go to that courthouse and have a motion entered to set aside the judgement for improper service. Also, bring proof that your only income is SSI. They can sue all they want but they can NOT touch SSI money

I spoke with a man that had been calling to my moms phone and leaving voicemail threading to arrest me if i didnt contact him soon and made arrangments to clear my debt. He said i was being sued for a loan that i took out 1yr ago and never paied. For some reason or another it does not sound ligit at all he says he works for this company but how i read in other posts this company went out of business about 2yrs ago. This man asked me to send $400.oo dlls thru money gram made out to this companys name slash his name as well to an adress in Tx. I was suppose to do that by today at 1pm and since i didnt he faxed a paper over to my job asking for my monthly income and start date, also the paper says ELITE RECOVERY SYSTEMS not services is it the same thing? Can anyone help me out is this an actual collection debt or is it a scam??

this is scam of the first magnitude.first they got/bought your info from a pdl so chances are whatever loan is immaterial what is material is that the idiot broke the law in threatening arrest.file a police report for the call, and make sure your employer throws that fax in the trash as they are not obligated to even acknowledge it.then ignore any further calls,or hang up without a word if you get caught on the phone.again big time scam.
