Last Friday I was:
** Sending my retainer fee to T&C
** Holding my breath to see how the PDL people would react to finding out my account was closed
** Feeling peace that I had taken a step in the right direction, but anxious as to how it would all unfold.

This Friday:
** I have comfort in knowing that THREE of my PDLs agreed to zero out my remaining balance for a total of $714
** T&C has commitments from at least three other PDLs and is sending them the proposals for their approval. They still have three more to deal with.
** I negotiated w/Cashnet for two of my loans. They refused to zero out my balance, but did agree to only collect principal amounts of $100 and $200 respectively. They will be paid off by June!
** AIM would not take part in T&C b/c they only do third-party collections. However, the gentleman I spoke with was very cooperative and agreed to four monthly payments of $57.50...they will be paid off in August.

So...things are looking up...I feel good. Things will still be a little tight money-wise for the next couple of months, but I should be in GREAT financial shape by the end of July!!!

What a great feeling...this board and all of its helpful members are just so great. I can't thank you all enough for helping me...and I'm glad that my Texas-specific letter helped one or two of you get some of your loans zero'd out :)!!

Hi mwlgarcia

Earlier I used to hear so many people falling into the payday loan trap and not able to come out of it. Now, I often read that companies are accepting the payment proposals and the loans are getting paid off. This is a great recovery for those who know the pain of going through payday loan problems.

Mwlgarcia, I am so happy for you taking control of your finances. You might have gone through some difficult situations and you have learnt from your experiences. Once you are out of this, I guess you won't rely on a PDL again.
