I disputed some of the goofy stuff previously, and just got in the mail, a letter from equifax....

Here is what it says..

>>>We have reviewed your concerns and our conclusions are:

The disputed accounts nebraska furniture mart (I live in Ohio...And I've never actually BOUGHT furniture.), macys/fdsb (the one that I had 2 accounts) osi collections, cbusasears, chase, n/a, are currently not reporting in your credit file. Please forward to Equifax a copy of your discharged bankruptcy documents.

This means that they removed those items, right?

But what do they mean about bankruptcy documents? I've never filed bankruptcy..Do they always say that? I'm sure it's a generic form that they fill out, but I don't need anything else goofy.

They also gave me a new copy of my credit report, and it's a little smaller :)

I'm so excited. :)

I will, most definately.

I did talk to my student loan people today, and it will be paid in full, and reported to the bureaus on April 1. YAY! After I got the run-a-round though, "Call THIS number..no Call THIS number" kinda thing...Finally I said, "I JUST WANT AN ADDRESS! I OWE YOU $35.49!! I WANT TO SEND IT TO YOU! PLEASE! TAKE MY MONEY!" lol As soon as they get my payment, they're going to upload it onto my account on the website, so I can print it off, too..a PAID IN FULL letter..YAY!

I'll be so glad when this is all done.

One question though...When I set up my telephone service, I never SIGNED anything...I just called them and said I need a phone, and they gave me a phone number and sent the bills..How does that work then?

It seems that they are asking for the papers of bankruptcy court from you. I think they have mistaken it. Call them up and explain the story. This does not seem a proper response.

You can also check the status of your dispute online. Keep us updated.

My last credit report (experian) shows that I have an 'inactive/never late' account with Macys/fdsb. It was opened in 1986 with original amount of $38, and shows 'last reported' in 1996. I don't have a clue what this is, but I would like it to show Closed at my request. How do I do that. The address is Clearwater. Should I write with delivery confirmation or what? Any advice is very appreciated. Since this info came with a credit report, I only have a partial account number. Do I need the whole number?

Thanks anyone!

SusieM if the account is showing inactive/never late with last reported in 1996, the account can be deleted. But if you want the status to show closed at your request, all you have to do is call or write Experian and ask them to make the change. Your Credit report should have a identification number so they will see what you see. With that number their system should have any other necessary information they need.
