Welcome to the forums. A company cannot file for garnishment without a court order. It has to be signed by a judge. However, wage assignments do not need a court to be involved. They usually only involve you, the loan company, and your payroll. Wage assignments are voluntary though, and can be revoked (by you) at anytime.
