Hi guys!! I told you I'm emotional around the holidays, because I love them so much..So here is a start!

So often we sit and think about what's wrong in our lives..Do we ever REALLY count our blessings? I'm going to count mine..

My family..I have my husband and my little boy, Andrew..Everything I ever do is for them. I have my sister and brothers, and nieces and nephews..And my mom. Even though my Dad died two years ago and I miss him every day, I loved him so much..And he's still there..And I'm at the point where thinking about him makes me smile.
My health..I am blessed to be alive! No major medical issues, and I'm lucky to be athletic and active
My job..Even though I gripe, I have one, and others don't.
My friends. I love them.

I'm so happy to be happy!! :D I love you all!! What are you thankful for?

Hi Fins, very nice post and i thank you for creating it.
We wanted a baby for a while and finally we had our perfect little boy, one month after an early miscarriage I became pregnant, so i'm extremely grateful for him and for his father and my hubby who has stood by my side through good and bad and i know will continue being my best friend for life.
I am grateful for our military, our service men and women who are away from home defending us and our freedoms. I don't have to worry about getting blown to pieces or raped or knifed as I walk down our beautiful suburban streets. I am grateful my spouse is here and i'm also grateful to all who cannot be with family members.
I am grateful for our healthy and my family's health. we're a hearty bunch and we eat hearty too. I have everything I need and then some. I am happy and love to share that despite collection agencies not so happy with me :);)

Life keeps moving!! It's full of good and bad moments. We can't be choosy about the things that have to happen everyday. I thank you fins for starting such a nice thread. It will do magic and I am sure a lot of people who are feeling sad at the moment will forget their sadness.

My list of things to be thankful for is so long i will just post the things that first come to my mind:
First and foremost i am thankful for my family that they are all happy and healthy this year for teh holidays! It's a true blessing. For my daughter going on her 7th year of being in remission which means she will be considered cured! For her 2 miracle babies that were never supposed to be! They are beautiful, happy, healthy children who are loved dearly. I am thankful that all my children have grown up to be well rounded productive adults. Also for the love and compassion my family share for each other.
And can't leave out i am so very thankful for this forum that helped to pull me up from a very low place in my life! For that, i thank u ALL!!
:D

I have a lot to be thankful for and even though things do get rough sometimes...my life is full of blessings. I have 4 wonderful children and 7 sensational grandchildren. I lost my husband a few years ago...but I will forever be thankful for the family he gave me. They have been there for me with love and support. Other than my family I really feel blessed to be living in this country. I pray all those fighting to keep this country free will have a safe holiday season and come home soon.

I am thankful to wake up every morning. I am thankful for my husband who puts up with my antics and my children all of whom I love unconditionaly. I am thankful that I have grown up and I am thankful very much for all of the trials I have endured because those have made me a stronger person. I am thankful for the small things in life that make life a little bit easier. I am thankful that I haven't had to endure some of the economical harships so many people are facing now days. I am thankful for all of my friends new and old.

My list is long, but I'll try to keep it brief:

-I'm thankful that I finally have my paycheck back after 18 months of Chapter 13 payments eating it up.

-I'm thankful (I think - ok, just kidding, I AM thankful) that my daughter and her fiancee have moved in with me so I can help them get on their feet and get a good start in life.

-I'm thankful for good health

-I'm thankful for good co-workers who bonded together in the aftermath of the recent suicide of one of our salesmen, who I worked closely with.

-I'm thankful my kids and I have found a new home to move to in the next 2 months

This is a good idea Fins, I usually get mired in the fact that I really miss my dad during this time and sometimes I forget that I have lots of things to be thankful for... I am thankful for my beautiful son and my family who give me a reason to get through each day and look toward the future. I am thankful for the time we spend together as a family and that we are able to be ther for each other.

Ya know a few years ago, maybe 5 years, i was overwhelmed with Christmas, the money spent, how unappreciated it was and how we were really losing the "true" meaning of Christmas. So hubby and I came up with an idea that has become a tradition for us now. I have candles, one big white piller candle in teh middle, it stands for Jesus and lots of red tapers candles around it (represents the blood He shed for us) We light the white candle the morning of Christmas eve then at night when we get together we stand around the table and everyone grabs a red candle and states what they're thankful for from the year and what they expect for the year to come! (not material things) Everyone loves this SO much that now we have friends, neighbors and family members that come over to our house on Christmas Eve just for the lighting of the candles! Oh and we let the candles burn thru Christmas. (the red taper candles go out before we go to bed) But the white one usually burns thru Christmas night!
Just thought i'd share this with u guys!
:D

Sometimes I sit and think things suck. Then something "snaps", like this thread by fins. Hell, I'm thankful for an awful lot. I'm actually thankful for the hard times and the ugly times because that is what brought me to where I am now. I'm thankful for complete strangers who offer help and kind words just from out of the blue. I'm thankful for my WONDERFUL parents who will do anything they can for me. I am thankful for my boss who gave me job. I am thankful for my wonderful place to live, my car to get me to work, my friends that I can talk to, my dogs who greet me every single morning with kisses, the squirrels and birds who come to eat every day and make me smile. I'm thankful for my space heater that keeps me warm, while others are out on the street with just a jacket. I'm thankful for the food that is in my kitchen when others have to stand in line to receive food. I'm thankful for the beauty in each day when I look at the changing trees and the beautiful sky. I'm thankful that I have the ability to hear my dogs bark, the birds sing, the music playing. I'm thankful I have the ability to see the beauty of each day. I can go on and on. Because there are so many people who do not have the things we have. It might not be much, but it is more than some have. And I am thankful for the members of this community for making me feel "at home" and comfortable. And for fins, for starting this thread.

first of all, i am thankful for my faith in jesus christ for without him, i am nothing. i am thankful for my parents, who raised me to be the strong person that i am. we were not rich moneywise, and was raised in public housing, but we lived a rich life in a home with a mother and father. (which many children did not have) my father worked 3 jobs to take care of us and we were some of the best dressed children in the neighborhood. i'm thankful that at 48 years old, my grandmother is still alive and well (and spoils us rotten). i am thankful for my children whom even though they make me mad i would not trade nothing for them. i am thankful for my precious grandchildren. i just love them and cherish them to death. i think about my sister, who lost her only grandchild, a year ago in a drowning accident. he was only 3 years old. the pain was so great, but through the countless tears we now can smile thinking about him. i am thankful for my friend, who has and is standing by me through the job loss and supports me through all the struggles we are going through, for we both believe that things are going to get better, and we will look back at these days and see that anything is possible if you just believe and not give up.

most of all, i am thankful, very thankful for my friends on this forum. i feel that god led me to this place for a reason. you all has helped through the good times and the bad times without judgement. i love you all so much and one of these days, we just might meet in person.
