Has anyone had any dealings with First Financial? They called me at work and left a message. I haven't received anything in writing from them yet.

Do you know what this is about? or is this the first time you have heard of them and have no idea what they're calling you about? I guess I'm trying to figure out if you're asking 'who' they are, or if you're wanting to know how aggressive they are and how you should handle them?

If by chance you do not know these people or what this is about, I did a search on the internet. There are sooo many first financials--theres first financial banks, first financial credit unions, and first financial investment companies, theres even first financial mortgage and I'm sure that theres probably a loan company by the name of first financial. By you stating that you haven't received anything in writing yet, are you thinking that it could be a collection agency? I didn't turn up any in my search. Maybe someone else has heard of them? but through my search, there are tons of first financials but all in the way of banks and credit unions. shirley

This is the first I have heard from them. Also, the person who took the message put down the number 866.235.1987. When I dial it I get the message "Your call can not be completed as dialed". The person who took this message is pretty reliable also. Just really strange. I would assume this might be a collection company but not sure. Thank you for trying.

Oh, you're welcome! I think we'll wait and see if anyone else comes along that might know for sure or has had some dealings with them. But I really don't think they're a collection agency. Could you, maybe have had an old loan with first financial that you forgot about and they're calling you on it?

also---just a thought, if you *happen* to have any collection agencies after you, you never know what their next trick could be. Maybe they were calling to verify that you were still working there and gave a bogus name and phone number. This came to mind because not that long ago, a Collection agency was calling my house looking for some guy that doesn't even live here. I told them over and over again that they had the wrong number. Then they called one day, stating that they were our towns high school and had this persons VERY SICKLY daughter in their nurses office. TRICK TRICK TRICK----hoping to smoke out the guy that they've been calling here for. They believe me to be lying and were trying to catch me in a lie.
Some of the others here have told some collection agency stories that you wouldn't believe. Its like theres no level too low for them. shirley

Well, I went and checked all three of my credit reports which I was going to do anyway. This company accessed my credit report. I do think it was when I applied for a cash advance loan. I believe now it was a credit card (scam) where you pay like some aweful amount of $200 or so to get a credit card. I rejected that offer. I am going to send them a letter since I don't have a correct phone number with them. Nothing shows up about me owing them anything. I rejected the offer and they never took out their "fee" from my bank account either. I think that it now just a way of them trying to get me to get their so called credit card.

It seems that First Financial has made an inquiry in your credit report. Although they have not put up a balance in front of you, but their inquiry might have lowered your credit score. Check your credit report and see if they were authorized to hit your file. If not, ask them to remove their unrecognized entry.
