Please tell our readers something about yourself?
I am the CEO and Co-Founder of Embrace Pet Insurance, and I’m on a mission to change the flighty image of pet insurance in the US. I’m an entrepreneur with an insurance background (I’m the only pet insurance actuary in the US) who is a pet parent to 2 cats and human parent to 2 daughters. Life can get busy sometimes!
Do you have any email id on which our readers can reach you?
You can find my email on the bottom left of my blog at blog.embracepetinsurance.com
What is your motivation behind this site?
My motivation is to illustrate that an insurance company can be upfront and honest, and is run by real people with real cares about pets. Insurance is all about trust and my blog helps show we are what we say we are.
What topics do you explore in this site?
The Embrace Pet Insurance blog discusses all aspects of pet health insurance – the companies and products on the market , pet insurance features, how to choose dog and cat insurance, what to avoid. I also talk about Embrace – the people, the product, what it’s like to work in a start up. I also discuss claims examples, pet health issues, answer questions from inquiring minds, and generally try to help people understand the ins and outs of pet insurance. And finally, I get other bloggers to guest post about their relationship with their pets and what they mean to them.
What are your future-plans with this site?
I’ve been playing around with the look and feel and have some more work on that. I’d also like to get more guest posts from veterinarians, other bloggers, and my staff. We’re all so busy though, I hate to ask more from them.
What are the sites and blogs you browse often?
I use my RSS reader to browse a lot of blogs but on pet stuff, I generally read Pet Connection, written by pet columnists Gina Spadafori and Dr. Marty Becker amongst others, and Dolittler written by vet and fellow Wharton grad Dr. Patty Khuly. As for websites, apart from the Embrace Pet Insurance and Embrace Pet Community sites, which I visit quite often (as you can imagine!), I love Urbanhound and I’ve made a pretty good list of health related pet sites in my post 20+ Pet Health Resources for Responsible Pet Owners
Would you please share something for people who are in debt?
Pet insurance can help when you have limited financial options but would do anything for your cat or dog. Pet insurance removes the need to make difficult financial decisions at a very emotional time when you are trying to decide the best medical course of action for your pet. Obviously, I’d love for you to get an Embrace pet health insurance policy but you have a number of choices, which you can research at petinsurancereview (dot)com. And to get the best value from your policy, check out my 7 Shopping Tips for Getting a Good Deal on Pet Insurance.
