These places are treasure troves if you pick through them. You can find some really amazing items for the upcoming holidays for a fraction of the cost of retail.

We do not have good garage sales or consignments around here. I really miss them. I am a big sale shopper, will not pay full price for anything. I use e-bay quite a bit.

We have one consignment shop but almost the whole store is kid's clothes. I LOVE to go to Goodwill, though! I get lots of work clothes there and I always get compliments on how I dress. Most everything I get there is name brand stuff that I would never pay full price for.

I love goodwill also. I will not buy my jeans from a reg. store. I just hate paying $20+ for a pair of jeans for work. I can get Levis for $5 there and they last longer than walmarts jeans. Plus I found a great Columbia winter jacket at goodwill for $20 and at the store they go for $150 :shock: I got my daughters prom dress from Goodwill for $10 :D

Are you kidding me? Poor roxy. No "good" stores out by you. Honey, you need to come here by me! I'll go to the consignment stores or Goodwill stores FIRST, then go to the "regular" stores. Just yesterday someone complimented me on my "cute" purse. Ummm.. thrift store for $2.00. THANK YOU! :wink:

When I lived in FL I used to go all the time or shop all the clearance at the major department stores. I have purchased Ralph Lauren and Liz and all the other brands dirt cheap at Dillards, Belk and Macys. I used to love Maine becuase several of the major stores had "basement" stores and I always got great deals. Here I think the workers of these stores take first pick. This is such a depressed area that many times the stores are so busy that you can not get into the parking lot. My sister and mom are BIG shoppers and my sis does not care what she pays for stuff (she does not have to) so most of the time, I wait for hand me downs...I get great stuff that way..mom is the same, then I just pay for it to be altered which can be cheaper than consignment or resale stores.

Oh, roxy! Florida has the BEST stores! Each time we go to Florida, we hit up every Goodwill we can find! Talk about finding all kinds of things! Good Lord! It was like "Cool! Look what I found!" :lol:
