Does anyone know this B & T loan co? I applied to a website and they called me back saying i'd been approved. The catch is i had to send in almos 600.00 because of my bad credit. They are in DE, but the call center is in NY. I tried to get an adress , but the rep told me they couldnt give me that info. I have the DE address. I did fax them my personal info ss#, pic iD, and paystub. Real stupid I know. I haven't given them any money yet. I told her I don't really trust companies asking for upfront fees, she said i had nothing to worry about and that she was looking at the check as we spoke. I can't really find any info on them. I'm not wiring any money. She said the acct dept handles that and she doenst really know how I would have to send the money. This was all last week. I haven't called them back yet.

I haven't heard about this company but it rings a bell when I hear anyone asking for money upfront. I believe you should not have sent your personal info in case they misuse it. Now that your personal info is with them, be very cautious with this company. Monitor your credit report closely for any suspicious account in your name. It is your decision whether you want to have the loan from the company but I will say there shouldn't have been any upfront fees, even if it is because anyone has bad credit.

You will find many instances here where people sent money and never got the loan. When they inquired with the company on what happened with the money that was supposed to be deposited in the account, they came up all the craps. Do your own research before you decide anything about this situation.

Hi passiionhunting, thank you for the advice. Yea i'm going to have to contact SS and put an alert on my credit report. I did do some research on this company and the only thing i came up w/ was on ripoffreport.com. A guy said he applied and sent in more than 1,000 and never got his money and the same person he dealt w/ is the same person i've been dealing with! When he asked her for an address she hung up on him! Thank goodness I read this site before I sent them anything.

I found this information on a BB & T company, seems like your regular average joe bankers bank

BB&T is a full-service financial institution built on the strong foundations of our philosophy, our history, and our tradition of service. Currently the nation's ninth largest financial holding company, BB&T has more than 28,000 employees and more than 1,400 locations in 11 states and Washington, D.C.

This sounds like an advance fee loan scam. Don't send them any money upfront. They are just looking to rip you off. This may be a new or an existing one with a new name. No reputable loan company will ask you for money updront. There are many warnings about this type of scam on the forum. I'm glad to hear that you put an alert on your credit report. :-)

Yea Mishele I'm glad I did. I had already faxed the rep my ss card, state id and paystub. I had to put an alert asap. She sounded so legit. I even explained and told her my apprenhension about advance fee loan scams and she told me i had nothing to worry about. Can't believe i was about to send them most of my paycheck this week. You should have seen me last week, just walking on cloud nine lol thinking i was going to get this money and pay off some bills. Oh well, back to square one.

ok, update. Thank goodness i didn't sent this company my money! I was thinking about sending the money but didn't feel right. Well i went to this website that is a big help. Ripoffreport.com. I typed in their name and 3 complaints popped up during the last few weeks. 3 plp have gotten scammed already and the last person says he went to call them about the funds not being distributed and their number is disconnected! Avoid B & T Loans!
