Why are these companies willing to help people that are so far into debt?? Do they get a cut of the money or something??

debt management programs provide their services to help the people in financial stress. Most companies charge a service for their program. I believe this is their only share of their profit. Anyone going through financial problems and not able to make the payments can participate in the debt management programs and keep their bills current. This will help in eliminating credit card debts and other delinquent bills.

I believe the main purpose of this program is to put people on track financially through regular payments. Once the creditors are satisfied, they will stop contacting you. Those people who have problems in getting a loan can get some assistance and intervention through debt management programs.

The credit counselor's job is to discuss your financial situation and what may be the available options for you. If a debt management program sounds helpful, the agency will take the monthly payments from the enrolled person and disburse it to the different creditors. Further all communications are done directly with the credit counselors. This keeps the situation consistent and in control.
