Have anybody ever file a formal complaint on these pdl?

There are many who are trapped under the payday loan mess. If they had money, they would have paid the debt first. The lenders charge excessive interest rates and this makes their situation worse and the loan account never gets paid. At this situation, the govt. also doesn't hear common people's voice because of their empty pockets. The only recourse is to file complaints with the legal authorities. They won't come into action unless they receive huge number of complaints against one specific company. Needless to say, the matter is delayed and the results are pending. People have lost their time and energy by this time. Something magical can only end the worries of these innocent people hit by bad times.

That is why we say to file formal complaints with the states AG office, they need more complaints and then it starts to raise some eyebrows and action will then start against them.

Do you think that works? People are filing complaints every time when they find something suspicious with some company. I can only assume that their database gets filled with all sorts of complaints and they may even reach to the stage when there is a need to clear up some of the older files.

On the other hand, we find another company scamming people. The list goes on and on. But what about the actions against these companies?? How many of them are penalized and stopped from doing business each year?? I heard NCO was the company to be penalized the heaviest amount and were under strict observation. Did they stop their illegal things?? They are still hunting for many innocent people around.

I am not saying that filing complaints is not the right thing to do. I am pointing towards the fact that the govt takes cares of those who have money. It does make me think for a while that in the name of charity, these companies do them donations and hence get a permit to continue their illegal things. Am I thinking too much?? I should go and get a cup of coffee

No aciotsf. I have received help from my AGs help and many of the pdls marked me paid in full after contact from the AGs office and the one's I still owed on settled for what I LEGALLY owe them on the principal. I have spoken with a few departments in my state and I can tell you they said that they want the complaints the MORE the BETTER because that will trigger a huge RED FLAG. So it is very important to file the complaints, they can't change something if they aren't aware of it is what they told me. And I think people are going to see a change soon.

Kyside38 is a great example of how one person has helped change the laws in her state. You would not believe the difference she has made in regards to these internet pdls and WV consumers have her to thank, she brought it to the attention of her AGs office and has worked diligently with them to make a change. They do not throw these files away, in fact I can tell you that here they are putting these complaints into a file and are dealing with them. Regardless of what people want to think about their government, FILE THOSE COMPLAINTS. I can not stress that enough.

Hey I just wanted to let everyone know. File those complaints. With the help of the AG office they are shutting these people down left and right in WV. The payday people are signing cease and desist letters. They do not want to appear in court here Payday Lending is prohibited in WV. Many people are getting refunds also. I wish that works and I will also say that you have been fortunate enough to get the positive results from the AG's office quickly. But seeing the majority of people having a run over, it just worries me how they will find their solutions. At least, I didn't have any success with my state AG when I reported them about one lender who was charging obnoxiously on my file. They took my concern to the company and waiting for their response. Do you know what happened next? The AG said that they contacted the loan company and they say that the charges are as per the state laws. I showed them my state laws about the charges, though it was their duty to comfort me, not that I have to show something to prove right. They said that they do not take individual cases because they don't do the work of a private attorney, so I should see one. You say, what do you expect then?

I don't want to encourage anything negative here. People, you must file your complaints with the legal people you can think about. This is mass issue, no matter if I had a negative result as an individual.

Then you need to file the complaint with that pdls state AGs office, because I'm sure they don't even follow those laws, which is the case I found out from one of my pdls and they caught the eye of their own AGs office.

actiofs, I guess I am blessed to have the AG in my state. He wants to see these people go under. Because like I said it is illegal here. I am sorry you did not get results. It does seem like some are slow. Kyside38

kyside38, you have been great here about giving the updates on your state new laws against payday loans. And, I believe that if people like you, Steelers are after the govt. many innocent people will feel stronger and won't panic on seeing illegal charges. They will find a legal way and strong support from the govt. And if people like you are there to encourage and help others, many will see the positive results quicker. I will say every member and moderator who puts their opinion here are well versed with the laws. and they encourage others to be strong enough. Aciotsf, Thank you you made my day. Like I told Steelers I cringe when I think where I was at a year ago. I was in danger of losing everything I had. My AG came to the rescue. I did many stupid things with these loans. I never had a clue that they were illegal. I overpaid by thosands of dollars which I will never fully recover. So if I am a little biased about Attorney Generals maybe this will explain a little. Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, I second that, Thank You Aciotsf. It was kyside38 who gave me the help and encouragement to go after my pdls and file the complaints. I was skepticle at first but with her encouragement I proceeded and had success. Thank you :D

And now, steelers, your voice may be the most powerful ones on this board among with many others. I see you getting involved in serious conversations like the Bass and Associates, Paul Kupferstein, MMG. A person with strong mind can only get the facts out. One more member I appreciate the most is Tammy. She is a silent lady not goes into every post that takes place in the pub, but she always stands with a strong mind and puts her voice.
