I know many of you have dealt with United Cash Loans. I am pretty sure they have not abided by the usury laws for Denver, Colorado. I have almost paid them the full principal in interest. I got a threatening call today at work from them. Can they garnish my wages? Does anyone know? If they sue me, can I use the "usury law" defense?

Here is the link to your state's pdl law. It says they allow for criminal prosecution, but you need to find out if this internet pdl is licensed in your state, and the link provides another link to your state's licensee databank. If you signed a voluntary wage assignment in your contract, you need to revoke that immediately by e-mail, sending, and faxing that revokation to them. Also you need to file a complaint with your AGs office, as I am sure they are probably not licensed in your state.

Yes, you can state the usury laws as defense. Have you compared with your bank statements and know how much have you actually paid on this account? Follow the link below for the laws in Colorado.

I also think that United Cash loans is not licensed to do business in your state. You can go to the CO state regulator website and confirm about their license. Under such circumstances, they can't garnish your wages. If you have paid them the legal amount, garnishment just becomes impossible for them to do.
