if the statue of limitations expired on a creditcard and the collectors get a judgment against you because you didn't go to court can you take them back to court and sue them under the federal trade law?

You have to check the date when the collector got the default judgment against you. If he gets the judgment against you before the SOL expired, you can't do anything against him but to pay your debts through court orders.

The collectors lose all their chances of suing people after the expiry of the SOL. You need to know which federal law was violated before thinking to sue them. They can still attempt collections even after the SOL expired.
