If you had a previous loan modification which had lowered your interest rate significantly and which allowed you to repay the loan on a long term basis, then it is very difficult to get another loan modification. But if the the last loan modification was for a short duration, say for 4 to 5 years, you can try again.

If you were given a modification through your lender and it did not work out to be advantageous to your situation or if you re-defaulted, you can absolutely get another one through a 3rd party.

My first loan was modified then I get another second loan modification and still its granted because I found good lawyer that helps me well. Thank you Marc Tow.
