Loan with bad credit... not same old story?

So, like many here, I too have bad credit. I had (have) a bad mortgage with what I know now is a predatory mortgage lender (Ameriquest) who is trying to foreclose on my house. I'm trying to sell it first and just get away from the mortgage companies for a while. In any case, I have no credit cards, no loans, except my bad mortgage and an equity loan (which has never been late). My credit score is 530 (?) I think.
I couldn't refinance my mortgage because of the late payments to Ameriquest (long story there), and a misreported credit status from a vendor (another thread here).
My daughter is getting married and a loan of $2,000 would just about cover what I need to do for her. Any suggestions? Should I go to the people that did my equity loan and try to explain my situation? They also do personal loans. I tried to go through them for something before and was denied because of my mortgage. I make good money, have a stable employment history and can make my payments, etc etc. I just want to prove myself again. This mortgage company really did a number on my family and my credit! HELP!

If the company that did the equity loan for you can help, good for you. Also, I will try your bank as an option if you have a good business relation with them. Try to open a secured card account with them. This can help in your situation. You will get an opportunity to enhance your relation with the bank because of the secured card account. Do let me know how your bank reacts to this proposal.

Iburlock, I would try the bank. Whatever you do dont think about a payday loan. They are horrible and will eventually put you in a financial mess that is hard to get out of. I dont think you will find anybody here that would say any different. Good Luck KYSIDE38
