What are my options when it comes to a car loan that is too expensive, but the depreciation is so high it's not worth it to trade in.

Move down in car value meaning buy a very inexpensive car in the 2-3k range. Take out a signature loan for the difference in loan to value of your current car when it sells. Make sure to have a good mechanic inspect any car you are going to purchase at the 2-3k range.

If you have the means to put some $ into a further reduction of the loan principle, some auto lenders today will agree to write off a portion of the auto loan.

Well.................i don't have the 'BEST' credit in the world ( ain't that the truth!!LOL) and I got a Jeep Cherokee fianced through Citifinancial. They really 'worked' with me and my credit. The % rate is a bit higher than normal, but,...that's because I have low credit. You may try to go through them.
