Very bad credit need a loan asap with score under 520
Date: Tue, 09/25/2007 - 18:18
This is kind of embarrassing, but I have terrible terrible credit due to losing my job a few years back I was unable to pay all my bills and some went into collections and others became delinquent. Anyways I have made it over the past few years with no credit and doing just fine, till now. I am in a crisis of sorts and now I realized that I do need credit. I have been working on rebuilding my credit, but I havent had the means to fully restore it or the motivation till now. So my father said he would cosign with me on a loan, but I fear with my score will it even matter? Or are there any REAL companies that will lend to me with such a low score? I will pay the high rates (other than 100% loan-shark rates). Any advice would be great I know its a long-shot, but I am hoping there is SOMETHING out there that can help me besides a payday loan as they wont give me the amount I need. I need about 2000, but I was hoping for 4000 just in case (for medical expenses ... nothing crazy so dont think youre helping a junkie or anything ha :) )
FYI im only 26 and in this dilemma also is there a way to fix my credit or am i better off going bankrupt?
Thank you guys,
Cassie

Hey Cassie. Don't be embarrassed. Bad things happen to good people and you are trying to make the situation right. I know exactly where you are coming from. My credit score is a whopping 524!!! I think that as long as your father's credit is good and he is the primary borrower then you will be just fine getting it from a reputable source. You may even be able to get a pretty decent interest rate. Also, having him cosign a loan and you repaying it back in a timely manner might help to improve your credit rating. Anything positive is only going to help you...and him in the long run. My father had to cosign for me to get a loan about 3 years ago when my credit bottomed out and I had no problems at all. If he is a member of a credit union then it might be even easier. They are typically more willing to lend than some banks. Good luck. :-)

Oh...I think that you might be better off trying to fix your credit. You can probably do this a lot more quickly than to file for bankruptcy and wait for it to purge off of your credit report. But, there have been alot of people who have been helped by filing bk. It just depends on your financial situation and your preference. Have you signed up for a free consultation here? Someone can call you and discuss your situation and help you make the best decision for you.
