Information rather than a question

This is going to be a story with twists and turns but stay tuned. Did you ever wonder sometimes HOW your info gets so messed up ? Well I have one example of what happened to me. I got married and changed my last name to my husband's, so I became Mrs. Smith. My husband's brother's wife (Emily Post tells me she is NOT my sister-in-law but I call her that anyway.) of course is also technically Mrs. Smith but she decided to keep her maiden name. We happened to work in the same office, but different sections.
A phone call came in for Mrs. Smith so they gave it to me, as my sister-in-law is Ms Jones. This woman begins YELLING at me about how I owe her $500.00 for dental services for my husband Thomas. I said Excuse me but my husband's name is Robert ! She said don't you live at 43 Primrose Lane in Pleasantville ? No ! Of course she thought I was just stepping out on the bill and didn't believe me. I knew my brother-in-law had been out of work and they must have fallen behind with their bills. She said well how did I get this work number then if it isn't you ? Not wanting to divulge anything about my sister-in-law, I told her that Smith is a very common name and there is another worker in another section named Smith. I told her I would give the other "Mrs. Smith" her name and number and the info about the overdue dental bill. Of course I gave my sister-in-law the info and we laughed about it.
Still with me ? OK. When I was divorced from my first husband, he signed his part of the house over to me as part of the agreement. It had been held jointly. As I am the same person and can prove it, I did not change the deed on the house to my new married name. So it remained as Susan Sachs.
My new married name is the same as my mother-in-law's name - Susan Smith.
My brother-in-law's dental file listed Susan Smith (his mother) as the primary contact and relative since he has been going to the same dentist since he was a kid. I guess they didn't think Ms Jones was a relative. Who knows. My mother-in-law is deceased.
This bill was reported as delinquent, I assume, but the credit agency or whoever researches these things couldn't match it up with my name and DOB and SSN and all as it seems I only appear under Susan Sachs ! Meanwhile I have all my transactions and records and bank accounts and credit cards and everything under Susan Smith, my legal name ! Talk about incompetence !
There's more.
The investigation they do found another Susan Smith who once lived in the same county as me, but who is seven years younger than me,currently lives in Ohio, and has had numerous addresses over the last five years.
If you do a search for the address where we live, it shows my husband and his WIFE, 7 years younger than me, who has former Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, and etc. etc. locations. I show up as a possible relative or former resident of that address.
All because of an entry on a dentists's records ! The information these agencies have is often way incorrect as you can see from this.
