I don't think that there is any ideal interest rate on a mortgage loan!
You need to have a good credit score to take out a mortgage loan with a preferable interest rate! According to myFico.com, you can get the best mortgage rate if you have a credit score of 760 and above. The minimum score for taking out a mortgage loan is about 620. In short, the higher your credit score, the lower will be your mortgage loan interest rate!
So, if you are planning to opt for a mortgage loan, start improving your credit score to get the lowest possible interest rate!

The interest rates on mortgage loans range from 8.75% to 13.35% p.a. Forecasts for 2020 say rates will average around 3.7%. Rates could be 4% for six months and 3.4% for the next six months and you still get an average of 3.7%.
