i don't understand much about forbearance but i recieved a letter today and i stated that placed a hold on our foreclosure for 60 days due to the amount of equity in the property.

Could you provide more details? For example - is your house act
Could you provide more details? For example - is your house actually in foreclosure? Or has the bank simply threatened foreclosure? How many payments behind are you? What options has your bank offered you to keep the home out of foreclosure?
From your message, I would assume they are stopping the process because you have equity and equity typically means you can refinance. But I could be wrong.
