I am upside down on car loan, feel I need to let it go back, if I do if I pay them something monthly can they garnish my waged. My hours have been cut and I can barely afford to live now

Which state are you in? That can make a difference as far as wage garnishment is concerned.

First things first, in order to do a wage garnishment, they would need to get a court order. Have you received papers that they are taking you to court? How far behind are you?
