Will there be a hard inquiry for paying back mortgage

Yes! When you apply for a mortgage, a hard inquiry will be noted on your credit report.

No. When you are paying back mortgage, there will not be a hard inquiry.

A hard inquiry will be imposed on your credit report only when you apply for a new mortgage.

A hard inquiry happens when you apply for a loan or a credit card. When you pay back mortgage, it gets updated in your credit reports as Paid. It is good for your credit score.
