Ocwen Modification loan

We have tried to get Ocwen to help us with our mortgage. We qualify for President Obama's "Making Home Affordable" program. Ocwen said we didn't qualify. So they said "tough, just make your payments". We are falling behind every month and end up paying more in late fees that we can barely pay our other bills. What can be done?

Sometimes you just need to speak to the right person. Speak to someone in the loss mitagation department about modifying your loan. They will request some info from you so be ready. You will need to document your income. You will also need to write a letter explaining why you need the help. It will need to explain why you need help and what has changed since you initially got the loan. There are some companies out there that will help you with this but they do charge a fee. I recommend trying with your lender first before hiring some help.
