I've already enrolled in consumer credit counseling/debt settlement. Anyway, i've contact my bank and let them know that dont't let any of these PDL company do any ACH debit on my account. THey said that they can stop it for me but i will cost me 25$ per transaction. Well, i think i worth it so i told them to go ahead and do it. This morning i check my bank account and it was -$1800. What should i do now??? My attorney just sent me the documents yesterday. Can he helps me with that??? Or should i call my debt counselor??? Now my bank is negative, i don't know what to do. One more week and i have to paid rent. Any advise would be greatly appreciated. By the way, does anyone has any idea who SJM Marketing Fees is?? They keep withdrawn $90 from my checking, no infos or phone number from them. I've asked my bank about it, they investigated and told me that it was an authorized ACH Debit. Please help. Thanks guys.

Hi.

I am really sorry about what happened to you, that is awful. Go to your bank..You asked them to stop pay these companies..Did they give you any kind of statement showing that they did it? If you fight this with them within 3 business days you have a chance of getting most of your money back. PDLS can slip in under assumed names, or they can change the amount they are debiting and slide in that way. Also, your bank can get the contact info for SJM marketing for you

SJM Marketing phone number is 1-866-722-2770. Their fax number is 1-866-599-5161. I am not sure whether these debits done by the loan company are unauthorized. Your bank will be able to assist you on this and file a dispute with the company. SJM must clarify all the charges. If they can't, they are possibilities of getting your money back.

THanks Christina. Actually my bank did sent me the letter yesterday saying that there was no error due to authorized ACH debit. I did get a loan from them but that was long time ago and it was paid off. I dont understand how/why they still taking freaking $90 out of my account every two weeks.

Sammie, it sounds suspicious after the loan is paid off, why SJM is withdrawing money from your account regularly? There must be a purpose for this. You can't take that $1800 in negative. Call SJM and get this corrected. If they don't give you any legit reason, your dispute will have a proper meaning and your bank will be willing to assist you on this.

Guys, i've had a loan with SJM back in Early Jan.2006. They've been withdrawn the money out from my checking account until now September. I had a $300 loan with them, i'm adding up all the money that they had taken out from my acccount is almost $1200. What can i do to get my money back??? I just call them and ask them about it, they said that i have to call and let them know that i only want to extend 4 times, but because i didn't call them so $90 every pay period is just the interest. I told them that i've just enroll in debt settlement and my attorney will contact them, then they said Ok, now your account is mark off, u don't own us anything. I'm still pissed, all that extra money that they've taken from me and all the overdraft and NSF that i have to paid to my bank, i want all of that back. Please help guys. Thank you.

Sammi, this is ridiculous. SJM Marketing has taken so much of your money. Don't let it go wasted. Hire an attorney and file a class action lawsuit against them. Throw a letter mentioning about your state laws and that they are not allowed to take more money allowed by your state. You need to push some legal actions in order to get your money back.

Sammi,

What are your state laws regarding payday loans? I would find this information out and send them a certified letter asking for a refund. It doesn't hurt to ask, also contact your division of financial institutions to find out more info if need be. I'm not sure how much help that your bank will be at this point.
