Info on Prosper.com?

I have a loan with prosper, alot of people here do, but the thing is as soon as I got that loan, I paid off my payday loans, and a few months later, I had to go to 3 payday loan places, and I was right back where I was, but worse; now I had a new loan, and 3 payday loans. On this site you will find ways to pay off those loans and stay out of trouble without getting another loan. Please list what state you are in and someone will be with you shortly. I have already posted here and received TONS!! of helpful advice. I have closed my bank account in the last few days and am sending letters to the pds. I am still just so scared about them calling my job and my references. I want to pay them off and not have to deal with that stuff but I can't do that without taking out another loan, but hopefully a legal company with affordable payments. Don't know what do do!

there are debt consolidation companies here like Langhorne Law and Town and Country Associates that deal with internet and payday loans. Many and many of people have been in your situation and have great results with these guys. someone will be along shortly and give you their numbers, address,etc. if you want to get started with this.

meek...don't take out another loan...you can do it!! I don't remember where you are but I am assuming you still owe on your loans (the principle, or store fronts) most of them will make some kind of arrangement with you after you default (when they can't get any more from your bank account) you can also file complaints and get the help of the BBB and your AG. Creating more debt will only hurt you more at this point...don't you think??

You're right, I definitely don't need to create more debt. My problem is that I haven't paid anything yet on some of my internet loans and I've already closed my bank account so I'm worried that I could get in trouble. I want to pay what I owe. I had an emergency and took out several payday loans, once I realized what I had done and the amounts that were going to be coming out of my account every 2 weeks I freaked out!
You guys have given me such good advice and made me feel so much better but I've also read horror stories on here and I'm scared to death! Just thought that maybe getting a loan to pay them all off would be better than dealing with the harrassment since I'm really in the wrong here, it's not like I've over paid or anything.

I understand your concern...I just hate to see you get into more trouble. Are these all internet loans..?? Do you have your state laws..?? Personally I defaulted on 10..4 of them I still owed money to. The others I had over paid..I contacted them all...and sent the letter revoking their rights to debit my account or for wage assignments etc. I really only got 2 calls at work and I immeditaely said I can not talk at work please contact me another time and hung up. I was lucky they never called back..you can also email them and explain the situation...you want to pay but can not handle all the fee's etc., your bank closed your account...whatever you want to say.
Another thought is...there are a couple of management places that handle pdls..Langhorn and T & C..you can look them up on here...you would make 1 payment to them every mmonth and they would pay off the pdls for you...that way when they call you just give them the counselor's number..I hope any of this helps...

I have two storefront pdls which are fine, I am working with them and they are almost paid off! I have six internet ones, four of which I have not paid anything to yet. Yes, I have my state laws and none of my pdls are licensed in my state (Oklahoma). I have researched both of those payday loan debt consolidation companies and have gotten mixed reviews. I guess I will see how things go over the next few weeks, since four of the debits got rejected today (my bank was really nice, they have put a restriction on my account and I have to personally approve anything that goes through). I may start getting calls soon. Just confused and trying to do the right thing but still have to feed my kids! Thanks so much for all your help, you all have been wonderful! I hope I'm as lucky as you as far as them contacting me at work. I'm not in the office much so my coworkers will get all those calls! So embarrassing!

meek, decide for yourself. Do a "google search" on this site. Type in T&C and Langhorne. Read up on the posts regarding them. You will read what others have to say regarding each of them. You will also more than likely find contact information for each of them. Do a little research on here. Call them up if you are interested and just listen to what they have to say. It certainly doesn't hurt to weigh out all your options. You can fight the pdl's yourself, but some people don't have the time or the energy or are just not "up for it". And, that's fine. Many memebers use T&C or Langhorne. I've read about them. I just chose to fight on my own. That was just my choice. Your options are open. So, feel free to search the site, read up on each company, make a phone call if you want to, then decide what works best for you. Everyone's situation is different. And there is no wrong answer. It's what works best for you. :D

You can also make up a story for a work...tell them you cosigned for a friend who defaulted...or someone got your bank info and took out loans in your name...and your working to clear the mess up...something like that..

When I first came on here meek...I was 2 months behind in rent and hadn't been in a grocery store for over a month...last Christmas I couldn't buy anything for my adult kids...and they had to help with dinner...one of the members here said to line up your priorities...this is unsecured debt...they can't take anything away from you...so you put a roof over your head and food on the table first!So I am telling you... Take care of yourself and your family first so you can move on to a better life!!!
